School Direct: Start Your Career with the Catalyst Teaching School Alliance

catalystLeventhorpe is the lead school for Initial Teacher Training for the Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth Train School Alliance – “Catalyst”. Applicants who wish to train for the teaching profession starting in September 2014 can apply to teach using the UCAS Application Portal and if you are interested in training in one of the eight primary or thirty-eight secondary schools in our area then your application can specify Catalyst, with Leventhorpe as the lead school.

Are you a Graduate Looking to get into Teaching?

School Direct offers two routes into teaching, and both of these are offered through Catalyst with Leventhorpe as lead school.  There are two separate School Direct training options:

  • School Direct Training Programme is for high-quality graduates who want to be part of a
    school team from day one. You may be eligible for a bursary of up to £20,000 to support
    you while you train.
  • School Direct Training Programme (salaried) is an employment-based route for highquality
    experienced graduates with at least three years’ work experience. You will earn a
    salary while you train.
