School Direct: Start Your Career with the Bishop's Stortford Education Trust

Leventhorpe is the lead school for Initial Teacher Training with the Bishop's Stortford Educational Trust. Applicants who wish to train for the teaching profession starting in September 2018 can apply to teach using the UCAS Application Portal and if you are interested in training in a local primary or secondary school then your application can specify BSET, with Leventhorpe/BSET as the lead school.

Are you a Graduate Looking to get into Teaching?

School Direct offers two routes into teaching, and both of these are offered through BSET with Leventhorpe as lead school. There are two separate School Direct training options:

  • School Direct Training Programme is for high-quality graduates who want to be part of a
    school team from day one. You may be eligible for a bursary of up to £20,000 to support
    you while you train.
  • School Direct Training Programme (salaried) is an employment-based route for highquality
    experienced graduates with at least three years’ work experience. You will earn a
    salary while you train.
