From Mrs Sandeman Hall, High Ability Futures Support

During the Cambridge Colleges trip, 21 of Leventhorpe's high achieving Year 11 students learnt about studying at the University of Cambridge.  We had guided tours of five colleges, discussions with student guides and a presentation about subject choice from Admissions staff at my college, Trinity Hall.  My key takeaway was the impact of outreach work and the extent to which Cambridge actively recruits, values and nurtures state school applicants.  The days of private-school domination of our elite universities are over.  As our academically able Leventhorpe students step up to the challenge, they will be encouraged and supported to apply!

I found the Cambridge Colleges trip really informative on the subject of the college structure and it has definitely inspired me to get the results so that I could, one day, have an opportunity to go to a university like Cambridge. (Amy Panter, 11F)

The Cambridge Colleges Trip was a great experience to get an understanding of life after A-Levels, and what it is like in the prestigious colleges. The presentations and discussions were insightful and inspiring! (Claudia Allen, 11N)
