Leventhorpe’s Art and Photography class embarked on an eventful school trip to Liverpool from the 7th to the 10th of July.

Despite initial travel problems, we arrived in the vibrant city of Liverpool and settled into a beautifully artistic hostel, a perfect choice for our art trip.

The trip proved immensely valuable for our coursework, as we gained inspiration from numerous art galleries, including the renowned Tate Liverpool.  A visit to the futuristic “fact” gallery exposed us to thought-provoking installations, such as an intriguing piece involving people breathing into a red balloon, which was interesting to learn the hidden political and social significance.

As part of our trip, we watched (well…some of us did fall asleep) Wes Anderson’s film, “Asteroid City,” and analysed the director’s unique use of colour saturation and filming style to evoke specific emotions.

Undeterred by occasional rain and thunder, our class explored the city, shopping in vintage shops and record stores during our free time.

The trip finished with a memorable last night, featuring pizza, charades, and karaoke, bringing us all closer together.

Overall, Liverpool provided an incredible experience, and we all would love to express huge gratitude to Mrs. White and Mrs. Pickering for organising such a remarkable and amazing school trip.
