This month, 65 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Year 10’s took in their final assessment expedition after a year of training.

They were superb and have made so much progress since May, with their fitness, organisation and map reading.

The groups got on really well and can be so proud of their efforts. The sun shone, which was a bonus, but they deserved that after all the hard work they had put in.

Students had to walk 12km a day with full 65L packs carrying everything they needed for the weekend, including a tent, stove sleeping bag, food, first aid and clothes.

I have so much enjoyed teaching them and leading them this year. Thank you to Mr Green, Mrs Anderson, Mrs Simpson, Mr Beardsworth, Mr Dyke, Miss Rodriguez, Mrs Clarke, Miss O’Neil and Mrs White who gave up their whole weekend to help and sleep in a tent!  Legends!

All students need to do now is make sure they have official assessor reports logged on for their skill, volunteering and practical components and then they pass!

Congratulations everyone!
