This morning's challenge for students was to guess which of our six staff contestants would win the gruelling Ninja Warrior Challenge 2023!

Would it be the durable Mr Daws, the mobile Mr Mordue, the capable Mr Kenny, the agile Miss Allen, hard-as-nails Mr Hall or the mighty Mr McGee?

Tackling the course with three attempts at each obstacle along the way, the six staff members battled it out to see who could successfully complete as many as possible in the shortest time...

And it looked as though Mr Daws' was in the lead with sterling performance until the last contestant's ape-like manoeuvres through the course smashed it for a clear win - well done, McGee!

A lot harder than it looks and if you don't take our word for it, try it yourself!

Staff vs. Students Football Match

The sun was shining for this annual highlight which took place on the astroturf pitches at lunchtime.

And this year's sixth-form team were a formidable force.  Having reached the 5th round of the National Schools Cup league (due to take place in the next few weeks) they proved to be more than a match for our staff side.

The sixth-formers had the edge from the start, their tight-knit teamwork and determination evident from their pre-match team talk however, the staff put up a good fight with no goals being scored for most of the first half.

But as the staff tired, so the sixth-form strength shone through and the staff team conceded their first goal, despite some sensational saves from dark horse Darkwa in goal.  The crowds, amazed at the goalkeeping skills of our newest staff goalie, chanted and cheered him on.  The battle raged, with another, last sixth-form goal within minutes of the final whistle.

A superb match played in aid of a good cause!
