BackYear 13 students at Leventhorpe were celebrating and getting excited about their futures as they received results this morning.
This was the first time that these students had faced externally assessed exams as they had had teacher assessed grades for their GCSE’s in 2020. Their experience of sixth form has also been affected by periods of lockdown and online learning.
Top performing students were:
Reece Mascall and Matthew Morrissey who both achieved a clean sweep of 4 A* grades.
Other top performers at A level were:
Danny Bill (A*A*A A)
Erin Messenger (A*A*A)
Michael Morris (A*A*A C)
Oliver Murray (A*A*B)
Luke Sanderson (A*A*A*A)
Bobbie Short (A*A*A)
Erynn Palmer, Finlay Cook, Mae Hawksworth, Ella Ballard-Adams and Daisy Lucas all secured the top grade of Double Distinction* on their Level 3 BTEC courses.
Headteacher, Malcolm White, stated ‘Our Year 13 cohort of 2022 were a delightful group of young people, who have faced unprecedented challenges since the pandemic took hold in 2020. They have demonstrated incredible resilience and flexibility during their sixth form studies and I want to thank them for working so proactively with the school as we have navigated these difficult times. The joy of working with, and celebrating with such superb young people cannot be overstated. I am delighted to see so many of our students going on to study on their first-choice university courses. It is also great to see so many students securing high quality degree apprenticeships. We wish them every success in their exciting futures’.
