Leventhorpe's version of the Oscars took place on Friday 18th October with our debut Performing Arts Awards Evening!

The school choir, LevSingers, kicked off the evening of entertainment with their incredible harmony which set the scene for the night that followed.  There were performances from many of the school bands, including our functions bands The FUNKlets (Junior), DysFUNKtional (Middle) and Who'd have FUNK it? (Senior) as well as numbers performed by student bands.

The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony during which students were recognised for both their incredible talent but also their commitment and dedication to both their performance and the school.  The prestigious Performing Arts Award went to Willam Bray for his outstanding talents and continued dedication to both Leventhorpe's music and drama extra-curricular programme.  Ioannis Sitiortis was awarded the Leventhorpe Recognition Award for his endless commitment and technical support of the Performing Arts Department which will be much missed next year.

Staff Performers of the Year were Noah Tucker (Drama) and Guy Anthony (Music) with the Performers' Performer Award going to Violet Hall (Music) and Ben Barrett (Drama).  The 'Next Generation' Award went to Eva Ghadami (Drama) and Lillie Stafford (Music) while Leventhorpe Values Awards for Excellence, Commitment and Respect went to Alex Dopcheva (Year 8), Evie Martin (Year 9), Eddie Brichieri-Colombi (Year 10), Thomas Penketh (Year 11), Eddie Bray (Year 12) and Emily Hare (Year 13).

The department also introduced its new Performing Arts Leaders (PALS), who will be ambassadors for the Department and play a key role in encouraging younger students, role modelling the schools core values.  Congratulations to the following PALs: Adam Smith, Eddie Brichieri-Colombi, Lucas Champness, Emily White, Jessica Selby, Nyla-Rose Pickton and Emily Dainty in Year 10 and William Bray, Lilia Luxford, Finlay Thurston-McGowan, Cameron Isted, Charlie Wiltshire, Emily Hare, Nick Jones and Ioannis Siriotis in Year 13

And what a way to celebrate so much success!  Dancing the night away to such talent - this will be a firm fixture in the Leventhorpe events calendar and one to very much look forward to each year!
